Kitchen Renovation Project - The After
The unbelievable end of the project arrived near the end of July, hurray! We still have to get the kitchen and family room painted (another project) and we also ordered a matching fireplace mantel for the (rebuilt) family room that will have to be installed (another project!) but otherwise we are done. Almost five months from start to finish. Compare the "plan" drawings to the "after" pictures below, it's pretty amazing how close they came!
Next big challenge - putting everything back in the kitchen. Angela estimates it will take us about a year to get back to normal (whatever that is.. :)
View from the family room into the kitchen. When they were installing the bar Angela didn't know if she wanted base trim or not, she has subsequently decided yes... break out the saws!

Counters with puck lights on. Need to come up with new window treatments (blinds and curtains), Angela is stressing big time!

Oven, fridge, and pantry - nice and neat! Notice recessed lights in ceiling and pendant light (over the bar) in the foreground.

Flat top stove, vent hood (matches cabinets), decorative tile backsplash, stainless steel dishwasher to the left. Controls for dishwasher are hidden in the top of the door...

Looking from the kitchen back into the family room. Work counter curves back into the wall (makes the aisle a little bit bigger). Mmmm, apparently we need to move some furniture into the family room. We'll do this after the painting project.

Another view looking towards the dining room (we haven't undraped the cabinets there yet).

View from the kitchen into the family room over the double bar. We found a "temporary" chair for the bar but are on the look out for a more permanent solution. Fireplace is conspiciously absent from the family room (but the mantel has been ordered!).
