A (new) roof over their heads…

Our house was built in 1989, we bought it from the original owner in 1992. We had already replaced the siding, windows, and gutters in 2007. We figured a new roof was next. As it turns out the company that did our siding and windows specializes in roofs so we contacted them, looked at our options, got the okay from our homeowners association, and scheduled the work.

We happen to have a decorative cupola on top of our garage and, since it had to come down to replace the roof, we decided we should look into getting the cupola rebuilt while we were at it. Our roofing contractor recommended a guy who did this type of work. We met with him, liked what he had to say, and made the deal. He took the cupola back to his workshop, dismantled it, replaced all the external wood with composite, replaced the vents with plastic, refurbished the copper top and vane, and reinstalled the cupola. Maintenance free and it looks great!
